About
the Instructors - Following is a brief
description of the background and experience of some of your
Edge seminar instructors.
Each
instructor is an EXPERT in their specific field of instruction.
Powderhorn Edge instructors come from all walks of life, and
from all over the United States. Your class tuition goes directly
to pay their salaries and provide equipment for your training.
 Greg
Williams - Greg Williams and his wife
Shelly are the Owners of the Powderhorn Ranch in Powderhorn,
Colorado. Greg currently works as a Sheriffs Deputy for Hinsdale
County, in Colorado.
Greg
is a veteran police officer with 20 years of experience, more
than 11 of those as a metropolitan Detroit area police officer.
Greg has been a patrol officer, detective, sergeant, and Chief
of Police.
Greg
worked on a SWAT team, in undercover street crimes, and narcotics
enforcement. Greg is also a DEA trained narcotics enforcement
undercover officer, and supervisor. Greg also received undercover
training from Joe Pistone, the true life Donny Brasco played
by Johnny Depp in the hit Hollywood movie. Greg worked with
the FBI, CIA, and DEA on numerous high level operations. Greg
worked executive & dignitary protection for President's
Ford, Reagan, Bush, and Clinton, and for many actors, musicians,
professionals, and foreign dignitaries.
Greg
spent 4 ½ years in the US Army - specializing in 'small
unit' operations, and training. During that time Greg received
3 Army Commendation Medals, 2 Army Achievement Medals, a Good
Conduct Medal and much more.
Greg
is an expert Martial Artist, with a Master Level Degree in Universal
Shotokan and Shotokan karate, and Black Belt degrees in Aikido,
Kendo, and Judo. Greg has been teaching Martial Arts for over
25 years.
Greg
is a member of the Defensive Tactics Institute, Bushido Federation
of Japanese Martial Arts, and a life member of the Okinawan
karate-do Union. Greg taught for 11 years at 3 metropolitan
Detroit police academies. Greg was an instructor in great demand
for Officer Survival Tactics in Michigan, Ohio, and Canada.

Greg
has trained persons, groups, and organizations from all over
the world - including Asia, Central America, South America,
Africa, and other locations. Greg has trained with John Peters,
Bill Wallace, MA Nichols, Greg Dilone, Mike Inay, and Danny
Inosanto (revered instructors, students of the late Bruce Lee,
and choreographers of fight scenes for Hollywood action movies).
Greg has earned many awards in Police work and Martial Arts
to include the coveted, national Law Enforcement Heroes Award.
 Shelly
Williams - Shelly Williams - Shelly is a veteran police
officer and co-owner of The Powderhorn Ranch.
Shelly
has a Martial Arts degree and has taught Officer Survival at
3 metropolitan Detroit police academies.
Shelly
is currently a Sheriffs Deputy with Hinsdale County, Colorado.
Shelly is a dedicated, experienced, weapons instructor with
numerous 'real time' armed encounters. Shelly has instructor
certifications in many skills including;

Shelly
has worked uniform and plainclothes assignments in some of the
toughest locations on earth. Shelly worked for years as an undercover
narcotics detective, and her no nonsense approach resulted in
the seizure of over 26 pounds of cocaine in Colorado alone!
Shelly speaks fluent Spanish, and is a trained, experienced,
FTO (field training officer). Shelly worked executive &
dignitary protection for President's Bush, and Clinton. Shelly
has received numerous awards for her police work to include
the Fraternal Order of Police 'Officer of the Year' Award.
 Bill
Sunderlin - Bill Sunderlin - Bill Sunderlin
is the owner of SCI SHOOTING SUPPLIES
and is currently working for the Gunnison County Sheriff's Office.
Bill is a full time road Deputy and has 19 years of law enforcement
experience. Bill is a member of the Gunnison Valley SWAT unit.
Bill has extensive knowledge in all types of weapons and has
been awarded a life saving medal.
Bill
has extensive knowledge and experience in the use of explosives
and currently does all explosive retrievals for Gunnison County.
Bill
is a Colorado P.O.S.T. Certified Firearms Instructor and has
a Firearms Instructors rating from the Colorado Northwestern
Community College.
Bill
is an advanced Tactical Pistol Instructor with a certificate
from The Rocky Mountain Training Center and is a Certified Glock
Armorer, a Certified Beretta Armorer and Specializes in Colt
1911-style gun building and repairs.
Bill
has numerous certificates in Advanced Weapons and Training,
Specialty Impact Munitions, Incident Command Systems, U.S. Army
Counter-Drug Special Reaction Team, Defensive Driving, Nova
Stun Gun, Dupont Surface Blasting, Dupont Blasting and Explosive
Safety, Colorado Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association,
PPCT, Flashlight, Side handle Baton, OC Spray and Pepper Spray
use.
Bill
is a Patron Life member of the NRA, a licensed Pilot, American
Gunsmithing Association member, IPSC/USPSA Life Member, has
competed in Combat Pistol Competition for 18 years, 3 - Gun
Competition for 18 years, and has received numerous commendations
and awards during his law enforcement and search and rescue
service.
Bill
owns and operates his own Shooting Supplies, Shooting and Training
Range, instructs officers of several local law enforcement agencies,
the National Park Service, The U.S. Marshal's Service, the Bureau
of Land Management Officers and The Colorado Division of Wildlife
Officers. Bill is an Edge instructor, and the Armorer for all
Edge operations. Bill has worked with Greg and Shelly on one
ATF operation, that included an entry and search, and as an
instructor in past Edge training courses.
James
R. 'Jay' Seese - Jay is a combat veteran of the US Army.
Jay was a sergeant in the Military Police Quick Reaction Force,
and served honorably in The Gulf War, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Honduras,
and in Panama City during intense urban fighting. Jay earned
3 Army Achievement Medals, 3 Army Commendation Medals, a 'V'
for valor in combat, and a good conduct medal.
Jay
is a veteran police officer who currently works on street crimes,
and narcotics, in a major metropolitan Seattle, Washington Police
Department.
Jay
is a trained FTO (field training officer), and spent years as
a police Detective and undercover narcotics agent. Jay was a
distinguished member of the Tactical Services Unit. Jay is fluent
in Spanish, and has extensive training in firearms, tactics,
surveillance, counter-surveillance, and self-defense.
Jay
is a DEA trained operative in narcotics, clandestine labs, lab
entries and searches, and worked on a DEA reconnaissance and
intelligence team in Honduras. Jay worked as a member of the
DEA MET deployment team on many narcotics operations in Colorado,
and is an expert with empty hand tactics, and firearms. Jay
has a tremendous amount of 'real time', armed encounter experience.
Jay has worked with Greg & Shelly on numerous dangerous
operations, and has been a past instructor on many Edge courses.
Shon
Clemons - Shon is a veteran, Detroit Metropolitan Area
police officer. Shon is currently assigned to uniform patrol,
in the cities 'high-crime' district.
Shon
has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne
State University. Shon brings over a decade of real-time police
experience to the table, working for one of Michigan's largest,
most dangerous cities. Shon has worked with Greg & Shelly
on many dangerous operations, and has been an instructor at
many Edge courses. Shon is an expert in a number of police fields
to include;

Shon
has accumulated numerous awards, and commendations for meritorious
service as a police officer. Shon has worked in hundreds of
stressful, deadly conflicts, and has extensive experience with
shotguns, sprays, handguns, and personal defense training. Shon,
and his partner Mark O'Kray are Edge instructors in great demand.
Shon has worked with Greg & Shelly on many operations, and
Edge training seminars.
Mark
O'Kray - Mark
is a veteran, Detroit Metropolitan Area police officer. Mark
is currently assigned to uniform patrol, working in a 2-man
car in the cities 'high-crime' district.
Mark
has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Wayne
State University. Mark brings over a decade of real-time police
experience to the table, working for one of Michigan's largest
cities. Mark is an expert in Martial Arts, training with Greg
Williams in Detroit, and Mark is an expert in a number of police
fields to include;

Mark

has worked with Greg & Shelly on a number of high risk incidents,
and in numerous Edge training seminars.
 Range
Officer - Roger W. Parks
- Roger is a 5th generation Texas Rancher. Roger was raised
in Bosque County, Texas on his family’s cattle Ranch.
Roger is a graduate of the TCU Ranch Management Program.
Roger
is the Agricultural and Commercial Lender for a major Texas
Financial Institution. Roger is an avid Dove, and quail hunter,
and a trap and skeet shooter.
Roger
is a graduate of the Powderhorn Edge Basic Course Spring 2001,
and the Powderhorn Edge Instructor Development Course Summer
2002.
